Software Center (“Self Service” on MacOS) is a utility installed on all campus-managed computers for installing software without assistance from IT. Some commonly used applications are available to install, as well as useful actions such as mounting network drives and installing printers. Below are instructions on how to access and use the Software Center (or Self Service).

> ℹ️ Installing an application using Software Center will not require an administrator in most cases; if it does, contact IT Services.

> Open the Software Center by searching for it in the start menu.

> Inside the Software Center, select the software to install or the action to run and click “install.”

> The selected software will then be installed. If prompted, follow the steps shown in the installation wizard.

> > ⚠️ Due to a bug in the Software Center, it may say the installation failed even if it was successful. Check if the software is installed, and if it is, ignore the error.
