<span style="color: #000000">The portal has a feature that allows parents/relatives to log in and view student grades and finances if the student allows this.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Steps to be performed by the student:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">The Student logs into the Portal (</span>[<span style="color: #000000">my.nnu.edu</span>](http://my.nnu.edu/)<span style="color: #000000">)</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">The Student goes to the "Info Release" page (</span>[<span style="color: #000000">https://my.nnu.edu/ICS/Student/Info_Release.jnz</span>](https://my.nnu.edu/ICS/Student/Info_Release.jnz)<span style="color: #000000">), where they see a list of relatives.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">For any relative that is listed, the student can grant permission. If a relative is NOT listed, the student can request that they be added.</span>
  1. <span style="color: #000000">If the student requests to add a relative, they're redirected to a form, where they give info about the relative, then they submit.</span>
4. <span style="color: #000000">Once the student has granted permission, the permissions will be synced to the parent/relative accounts. Sync may take up to 24 hours.</span>
5. <span style="color: #000000">The parent (or relative) gets an email with their username and a "reset password" link.  The parent clicks this link to set their password. </span>
  1. **<span style="color: #000000">If the parent/relative already has access to the portal</span>**<span style="color: #000000"> (because they're an employee, or a grad student, etc.), they won't get an email, but they'll see a new "Student Info Release" tab when they log into the portal.</span>

<u>**<span style="color: #000000">If the parent or relative forgets their password:</span>**</u>  
<span style="color: #000000">The parent or relative can use "forgot password" on the portal to set their password again.</span>


<u>**<span style="color: #000000">If the student revokes permissions (unchecks the checkbox):</span>**</u>  
<span style="color: #000000">The parent/relative will immediately lose access to the student's data.</span>
