While travelling with an NNU issued device or accessing NNU information there are some things everyone should be aware of to maintain proper security. 

- **Do not leave your computer unattended.** Even without passwords, hackers can access information or put malicious software on your computer when left unattended. While it might seem like a short time away, all it takes is a few seconds for someone to steal or put malware on your device.
- **Be careful about what type of information you are accessing in public settings.** Sensitive information should only be accessed when you are confident no one could see over your shoulder. Keeping our student information safe is important enough to check your physical surroundings before opening secure information.
- **If you have access to the University's VPN and you are acessing University information, please turn on the VPN prior to accessing online resources. **Public Wi-Fi poses large threats to cybersecurity, but using your University VPN helps protect your online resources from being intercepted.
