# Software for use by permanent NNU employees on personal computers

Microsoft provides two programs for permanent NNU employees. 

1. The Workplace Discount Program allows you to purchase a personal subscription to Microsoft Office at a 30% discount on retail prices. This purchase goes with you as a perpetual license, even if you no longer work for NNU. To obtain this software, sign up at the [Workplace Discount Program](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/workplace-discount-program?rtc=1) page. You will receive additional instructions for purchasing and downloading the software when you are confirmed as a participant.
2. The second program is free for employees but is only available for as long as you are employed at NNU as a permanent employee. This temporary license is deactivated when you leave employment at NNU. Licenses for *Microsoft 365 Apps *(the desktop versions of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.) are enabled for all permanent employees.
  - When you log in on [M365](https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps), the download/install link for the desktop Office apps is in the upper right corner, labeled "Install apps."
  - Click Microsoft 365 apps
  - Click “Install Office” to download the Office Setup application.
  - Run the application to complete the install.
