Similar to how an email Alias allows people to send messages to different email address, but have them arrive at the same inbox, Gmail's **Send Mail As** feature allows you to send messages from your inbox as if you were another person (with that person's permission, of course). For example, say you are an assistant for an office and need to send an approved message to the campus community as if it were from a Vice President.

Follow the steps below to configure this feature.

1. In your NNU email, open email settings (the gear icon). In the **Accounts **tab click, under **Send Mail As**,** **click **Add another email address**. Type in the name and email address of the person you want to send an email as.
  1. **NOTE:** At this point, decide if you want reply emails to come to either yourself or the address you are sending as.

2. Once you click **Next Steps**, the other user will get a confirmation email with a link and a code. They should either click the link in the email OR provide the original user with the code which they can then enter it into the settings where it asks for it (seen below).

  2. Here is what the email sent to the other user looks like, note that they can either provide you a code, or click the link provided to verify access:

3. Once this is done, when you compose an email it will let you choose to send email as yourself or as the other email address.
