## The full **[Student Orientation Guide to SmarterProctoring and Practice Tests](https://nnu.instructure.com/enroll/8WD9FA)** is available in Canvas.
- SmarterProctoring is a secure test-taking utility that works inside Canvas to lockdown your computer so you can securely take your Canvas quizzes and exams.
- Your test-taking session is recorded (screen recording, webcam, and optionally a second camera which would be your mobile).
- These recordings are checked by AI and possible cheating events are flagged for your instructor and possibly a SmarterProctoring employee to review.
## Requirements:
- Must use only the Chrome web browser and you will be prompted to download and use a Chrome browser extension.
- Supported Operating systems are Windows and Mac OS. You can NO longer use iPads for taking a quiz/exam. You may use a Chromebook only for low-stakes quizzes that use the browser extension.
- You may be required to use your mobile device (phone or tablet) as a second camera during the test. This provides a side-view video that shows your screen, desk, and hands.
