In the event of a campus emergency, NNU uses a system to send out phone calls, emails and text messages to notify students and campus personnel. It is important for you to keep your information up-to-date so you can receive timely notifications of emergency events, snow days, road closures, etc.

The notification system is as up-to-date as we can make it, but perhaps you have had a phone number change or want to change how you receive notifications of a campus emergency. Please do the following to update your account:

1. Login on the NNU portal, [my.nnu.edu](http://my.nnu.edu).
2. Click on the Faculty, Employee or Student tab.
3. For faculty and staff, in the right-hand column under the "Communication" heading, click [Emergency Notification Preferences](https://my.nnu.edu/ics/extensions/userauth/emergencycontact.aspx?InLine=1). For students, scroll to the bottom of the page and under "Community", find [Emergency Notification Preferences](https://my.nnu.edu/ics/extensions/userauth/emergencycontact.aspx?InLine=1).
4. If you want text messages, put a cell phone number in the Emergency Text Messages field. If this is left blank, no text messages will be sent to you.
5. If you only want to receive a phone call with a recorded message, check the primary phone number we have listed for you. Update it if necessary.
6. If you do not fill in any of these fields, your notifications will be sent to your NNU email Inbox and the recorded message will be sent to the phone listed as your primary phone in our database.

If you have any questions or concerns about the emergency contact system, please call NNU Campus Safety, 208-467-8550, or the  NNU Information Technology Office at 208-467-8951.
